Did you know that prolonged dehydration can cause kidney damage?

Research has shown that prolonged dehydration triggers the production of the peptide hormone vasopressin, which speeds up cellular processes that lead to kidney impairment.

It can also cause waste and acid buildup in the body, clogging the kidneys with muscle protein and contributing to kidney stones and urinary tract infections, both of which can result in kidney damage if not treated promptly.

Thus, it is critical to drink an adequate amount of water while also avoiding substituting sugar-sweetened beverages in order to maintain and prevent any kidney damage caused by dehydration.
